During his postdoctoral fellowship in transplant medicine, he was the first to describe homeostatic reconstitution of gamma-delta T cells in patients who receive alpha-beta T cell depleted bone marrow grafts. Dr. Lamb also identified an association between gamma-delta T cell levels and disease-free survival in allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.
