Chromatography is widely considered the backbone of analytical chemistry testing within the FDA regulated industries. For instance, most compendial monograph methods for testing pharmaceutical products utilize some chromatographic techniques. Dietary supplements, in particular, are often comprised of a greater number of compounds and require significantly greater separation than pharmaceutical materials. It is necessary to leverage the power of chromatography to achieve the required separation. For these reasons, GPA retains a team of very experienced senior analysts who are very proficient in the use of our state-of-the-art chromatography instrumentation, including GC, GC-MS, HPLC, LCMS, and TLC. In Pharmaceutical sector, the main role is to identify and analyse samples for the presence of trace elements or chemical. Its major role is the separation of compounds based on their molecular weight and element composition. Chromatography also detects the unknown compounds and purity of mixture. Chromatography importance is growing its importance in drug development. HPLC and UPLC are both Liquid Chromatography used in separating the components of a compound or mixture. HPLC stands for High Performance Liquid Chromatography, and is a technique used to separate different constituents of a compound using high pressure to push solvents through the column. It is the most widely used technique to identify, quantify and separate components of a mixture. HPLC is widely used for the analysis of constituents of a pharmaceutical actives, drug products, pesticides, and countless other substances. In UPLC, or ultra-high performance liquid chromatography, column particle size of less than 2um can be used. This allows for better separation than the typical particle size of 5um that are used in HPLC. It also allows for a very fast analysis. Though, UPLC is a trademark technology it is used as a general term for this technique. Whereas the pump pressure in HPLC is 40MPa, in UPLC, this pressure can go up to 100MPa, which is what makes this technique so very exciting and efficient. GC is a technique for separating volatile substances by percolating a gas stream over a stationary phase. It is a technique that revolutionized analytical chemistry. GC has been applied successfully to numerous compounds in variety of fields. Headspace GC has been used since the 1980s, but only recently has it become part of mainstream of pharmaceutical analysis. TLC is known to have the best applications in Pharmaceutical Industry. They are largely used when it comes to the separation process. The use of pharmaceutical industry is gaining importance and there is huge success rates they are also delivering large number of medicines that are again challenging, but very few predictive scientific and analytical tools are available. Pharmaceutical industry tends to work on a regular pattern to improve the consistency of existing way so that they can match with the demands for best chemical measurements. In present days pharmaceutical analysis is largely dominated by expensive instrumental analysis.
