We are specialized in converting natural fats and oils into a wide range of oleochemical products, such as fatty acids, glycerine, esters, dimers, technical oils, specialty oleochemicals and biodiesel. Our products, made from renewable raw materials, combine high performance with ready biodegradability. The head office of Oleon is located in Ertvelde near Ghent (Belgium). We have two production sites in Belgium (Ertvelde and Oelegem), one in Norway (Sandefjord), one in Germany (Emmerich), one in Compiègne (France) and one in Port Klang (Malaysia). Because of the favorable location of our plants, various transportation possibilities across land and sea are at our disposal: Oleon buys raw materials from all over the world and its end products are exported to more than 100 countries. The chemistry of fats and oils and their derivatives is our key technology. Today we manufacture our high quality products in modern facilities with state of the art technology. Thanks to well-contemplated investments, mainly based on own developed technology, our plants are the most recent and the most efficient. Ambitious investment programs are running in each of our factories which put us at the top of the oleochemical scene. Already now this leads us to a production volume of over 500.000 tons per year and a turnover of 500 million EUR. Our ambition is to grow our production volume in the coming three years to over 600.000 tons. In total Oleon employs over 700 FTE, of which about 70 % in Belgium and 30 % in our plants in Germany, Norway, France, Malaysia and in our worldwide sales affiliates. Quality is very important to us. That is why all our plants are certified according to ISO standards. Our commitment to the environment is of the highest priority and our sites are certified according to the ISO 14001 standards. We produce following the Responsible Care Program of the chemical industry and we are also an active member of the Round Table for Sustainable Palm Oil. Rather than just selling standard products, we are committed to developing partnerships with our customers. With our dedicated sales organization, flexible manufacturing capabilities and extended R&D resources, we are able to offer tailor-made products and services to our customers which meet specific needs. Furthermore, we are able to supply our products certified to Kosher, HACCP and Halal standards.
