Micromacinazione was established in 1970, as an engineering company for the development of jet-mill technology. In 1975 the first custom micronization services plant was built in Molinazzo di Monteggio. In 1990 it was decided to change the strategy, and the plant was converted to only deal with active pharmaceutical ingredients; in 1995 the first FDA inspection was successfully passed. In 1999 Micromacinazione SA opened a second plant in Madonna del Piano, built following the highest current GPM state of the art, and under the supervision of the Swiss Authority (Swissmedic) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In 2003 the first factory in Molinazzo di Monteggio was fully re-modernised and obtained ISO 9001 certification. In 2011 a new engineering building was built as a consequence of the increase in business. In 2012 Cross acquired a majority share in Micromacinazione Micromacinazione is today the European micronization main actor of bulk active ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry. Our two separate production sites are regularly inspected by FDA, Swiss Medic and are certified by the Japanese Authorities. Our capacity is more than 1000 metricTons/year with 29 installed mills working under GMP conditions. Micromacinazione works closely with the foremost multinational pharmaceutical industries, taking an active part from the early development stages of a new project through to industrial production. We use our own engineering competences in designing and manufacturing jet mills. Micronization lines are fully designed and built by our internal engineering department based on customer requirements. Micromacinazione has more than 40 years experience in micronizing active pharmaceutical ingredients.
