    Akyso Pharmaceuticals is a biotechnology company specializing in sustained-release drug delivery systems. Since 2014, Akyso has been developing its proprietary iSTEP™ platform—an implantable, subcutaneous, tunable, extended-release polymeric implant designed to provide six to twelve months of continuous drug delivery. The iSTEP-N® implant, which contains naltrexone, is currently undergoing clinical trials, with Phase 1a completed in April 2025 and a 12-month pharmacokinetic study scheduled to begin in Q1 2026. Akyso has also secured funding to develop a buprenorphine implant, expanding its portfolio to address opioid use disorder.
