Director of the Tbilisi Scientific-Research Chemical-Pharmaceutical Institute (TSKKFI) (TNICHFI), Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Georgian SSR I. C. Based on the technology developed by Kutateladze. This production was the only one in the Soviet Union (USSR) that produced caffeine from natural raw materials - tea. By the end of 1938, caffeine production capacity had increased to 7-8 tonnes per year.
