In the Heilbronn rock salt mine, the largest in Western Europe, salt has been extracted from layers of salt up to 50 meters thick for over 125 years. The Berchtesgaden salt mine, which belongs to the company, has a long tradition, in which rock salt has been extracted using the so-called “wet mining process” since 1517.
The raw material is also used in the Bad Friedrichshall salt works for its own evaporated salt production.
