Carbomer Homopolymer is a high molecular weight polymer of acrylic acid cross-linked with allyl ethers of polyalcohols. Carbomer Homopolymer, previously dried, contains not less than 56.0 percent and not more than 68.0 percent of carboxylic acid groups. Cosolvent mixture of ethyl acetate and cyclohexane is used as residual solvent. Carbomer Homopolymer Type C is highly efficient thickener and ideal excipient for formulating clear aqueous and hydroalcoholic gels.
