Also known as: Noveon polycarbophil polyacrylic acid cross linked with divinyl glycol.
Polycarbophil is polyacrylic acid cross-linked with divinyl glycol. Ethyl acetate is used as residual solvent for polycarbophil. It provides excellent bioadhesive properties & can be used for the formulation of buccal, ophthalmic, rectal bioadhesive products. lt can also be used as a controlled release polymer in oral solid dosage forms.
